Testing is approximately 15 minutes and we are able to test 2 people at the same time. This includes a WorkSafe BC card, and consultation of results and hearing protection. All results are sent to the WorkSafe BC database for easy accessibility for employer.

1. Do I have to wear hearing protection?
If you work in an environment that is above 85dBA Lex. This is equivalent to having to raise your voice to communicate with someone approximately 3' away.
2. Do I have to wear them all day?
Yes, if you are working in a noisy environment, you must wear hearing protection.
3. How loud is considered noisy?
If you have to raise your voice to be heard by someone a meter (3 feet) away, then it’s considered noisy.
4. What kind should I wear?
This depends on many factors such as:
- Noise exposure levels
- Hearing ability
- PPE Temperature and climate
- Physical constraints
Your technician is trained to provide guidance on the best protection for your needs.
5. What’s the best hearing protector?
The best is the one you’ll wear all day in noise-seriously.
6. I have a hearing loss; can I wear my hearing aids turned off as protection?
No-hearing aids are not designed to block out noise at work. Wear proper devices designed to protect your hearing.
7. I can’t hear to do my work or feel safe when I wear hearing protection!
Conventional, or regular, earplugs or earmuffs may not be the right choice. They may block out too much sound. You may need a “specialty product”, such as amplifying earmuffs or uniform attenuation earmuffs or earplugs. These products are designed to let more sound through, to improve listening
